Rolling into 2024 on Ws

The G&A group kicked off our year in winning style, copping 3 Gold and 6 Silver ADDY awards along with a coveted Best of Campaign award.

The Caribbean Advertising Federation (CAF), regional chapter of the American Advertising Federation, offers a fantastic platform for players in the regional ad game to be recognised for creative excellence.

The driving force behind G&A’s ability to win-win-win “no matter what” has been a two-fold investment. The investment of trust placed in us by our clients; most recently Hilton Barbados Resort, Grenada Tourism Authority, Jamaica Promotions Corporation (JAMPRO) and Sagicor General Insurance Inc. There is also the hard work and creativity invested by our G&A team members.

Team G&A is a band of multitalented individuals who are always chasing opportunities to cook up creative solutions for those who are willing to partner with us and 2023 presented us with some great opportunities to create the perfect storm of award winning work.

Lightning in a bottle

In the climate of public sentiment surrounding hurricane season is where Sagicor met with G&A concerning their hurricane preparedness campaign. To our delight Sagicor Inc. opened the door for G&A to realize a campaign that would utilize that public sentiment to birth a campaign dubbed "the Unwelcome visitor”. No one looks forward to hurricane season and Sagicor rolled out the welcome mat for us to lean fully into that concept in print and on socials. In the final analysis the Silver Addy award winning campaign was a project that left both G&A and Sagicor on cloud nine.

Business can become a pleasure

Working with Jamaica Promotions Corporation (JAMPRO) was indeed an exciting challenge. The task for G&A was to raise the profile on Jamaica's outsourcing game to gain attention amongst the fortune 1000.  Outsourcing isn’t necessarily the most sexy topic but when tackled through the lens of sport, inclusive of the trash talk, it became a concept that was thought to be pure gold.

What would become a silver Addy award winning campaign was almost immediately stamped by the client who felt the approach truly met their endgame by inviting stakeholders to not just “Outsource to play” but  “Upsource (Jamaica) to win”.

Off the beaten path

Caribbean destinations like Grenada popularly push their tourism product to the North American market. It seems a rarity for those of us in the region to make a major campaign push to our sister islands. The Grenada Tourism Authority made a bold step in G&A’s direction to aid them in their effort to encourage regional interest in exploring ‘Pure Grenada. As a regionally based agency we were elated to play our part. The resulting Gold Addy award winning campaign was followed by an immediate uptick in bookings for the destination as more Barbadians got excited about exploring this unusual destination ‘Only 29 minutes away’.

Sinking our teeth into a challenge

Hilton Barbados Resort wanted patrons to salivate about their reopened and updated restaurant, The Grille Bajan Inspired. This presented a delectable challenge for our team to serve up a campaign to let the target audience know that ‘the only thing missing’ from the dining experience was them. Our team expertly blended food photography with clever visuals that not only delighted potential patrons but also wowed judges affording it the Best of Campaign Award!

There is something to be said for partnerships that go beyond achieving goals to being awarded for their innovative approach. As 2024 unfolds team G&A is looking forward to more exciting opportunities to work with those who continue to partner with us.
